The Rapper

Jacob Isaac James Stone (born February 27, 1995), also  known as ACME Z-Rizen a-c-m-e z-rizen), is a European Christian hip hop artist, songwriter, record producer and actor. He is the president, co-owner and co-founder of the independent record label One Verse Records, and an affiliate partner to ACI - Compassion In action & Relevance Life. To date, he has released 9 singles and one mixtapes as a solo artist, and he is set to release his first EP ‘Son To Africa’ set to be released in 2016. He produced much of his earlier material along with other early OVR releases. Jacob, in reference to his label as a Christian rapper, has stated that his music is just Rap, though it reflects his Christian faith.

Jacob debuted with Yplee with a local Ghanaian song labeled ‘Adom’ (Grace) in 2012 through El Shaddai Records. His First solo Mix tape, Day Dream, released in 2013, became the first Christian hip-hop mix tape to be aired on Choice FM ‘The Brown Berry Show’ which gained a lot of recognition. Jacob’s considered breakthrough is set to be next year as he looks to release his first EP ‘Son To Africa’.

 

Early life

Born and raised in West midlands Birmingham City Jacob moved often early in life, living in Wolverhampton, Telford, and Later on moving to Africa. He has stated that he would go to church with his Christian parents, but considered it for "older people" and said "I couldn’t relate, even though I thought I could” Z-Rizen born into a family of 11 Children was moved to Africa, Ghana with his father at the tender age of 12 years, In the song "Addicts Do Change", ACME reveals His experiences spending time in Rehab and in “God’s People” he describes the struggles he and his family had to go through during time in Africa.  Experiencing difficult times and neglect during his childhood, Jacob used his ability to rap as a source of significance. According to ACME, he could stay in his room for days on end just writing and listening to Rap music. It was through this Music that Jacob found individuals to look up to. Jacob states that "there were no huge influential people to look up to, they had all passed away so I had Drake."

At age 17, his personal, financial, and relationship troubles convinced him that he was at a "dead end." Wanting to do what he considered the mature thing, through the influence of his his rehab experiences, he desired to start attending church. A girl Jacob worked at Rehab with Sara Nelson was there, and she invited him to a Bible study, where he made a lot of friends and even got a job. Jacob was surprised to find that the members of the Bible study "were just people like me. They read the same books and listened to the same music. Their character was just different. They were loving and that's really what drew me in." Jacob says that it was at age 19 that he finally decided to live for God, though "it wasn't overnight" and he "spent a lot of time making bad decisions." ACME is currently doing a diploma course in Theology at Dominion University College in Spintex, Accra.
